MENDHAR, Apr 1: Mystery shrouds the death of a 13-year-old school girl, whose body was found hanging at her residence at village Ari in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch during early hours today.
The deceased was identified as Nausheen Akhtar, daughter of Mohd Ashraf, resident of Ari. The police said that family members shifted the minor girl, student of class 8th to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar during early hours today, where doctors declared her as `brought dead’.
The family members told police that girl was found hanging with the ceiling hook in the room at home during mid night and she was brought down and rushed to the hospital.
SDPO, Mendhar, Shahid Nahiem when contacted said that it was mysterious death. The body of the girl was sent for postmortem today and later handed over to the family. He said inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated in this connection.
