JAMMU, Mar 1: A minor girl has been kidnapped and gangraped by six persons for around 3 days in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat Police Station.
As per police sources, a minor girl aged around 16 years was allegedly kidnapped by six persons and later took turns to rape her from February 25 to 27 this year. The girl finding a loop hole escaped from the clutches of the rapists and narrated the ordeal to her parents, who lodged a complaint in this regard with police.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 36/2020 under section 363, 376-D, 342 and 506 IPC and 6 Prevention of Child from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act with Police Station Channi Himmat and hunt was launched to nab the rapists, who were identified as Arjun Bahadur, Raja Singh, Dashrat, Kurban Sheikh, Saraj Gazi and Sunil Kumar, all residents of Channi Himmat.
The girl was handed over to family members after conducting medical examination.
However, no arrest was made till last reports were compiled.
