UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: A 17-year old girl was allegedly raped by a youth when she was on way to home from school in Nallah Mallian area, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar.
Acting swiftly on complaint of mother of the victim, Police arrested the alleged rapist and his associate, who have been booked under POCSO Act and section 376/342 of IPC.
According to Police, the victim, a student of class 12th, was coming back from her school yesterday when the accused, namely Suchu and Vivek Sharma forced her to sit on their motorcycle saying that they would drop her to her house.
When they reached near Nallah Mallian, the accused took the victim to a lonely house where Vivek Sharma allegedly raped her while Suchu locked the door of the room.
A written complaint in this regard was lodged by mother of the victim following which a case FIR number 44 /2022 under section 376/342 IPC and POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Ramnagar.
On the direction of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhisham Dubey, Police team swung into action and arrested the accused within a few hours of the commission and reporting of the crime.
Meanwhile, medical of the victim was also conducted through a board of doctors and further investigation of the case is going on.
