POONCH, Jan 12: A 9-year-old boy was injured after a gun went off accidently in Dara Sangla area of Surankote in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that Mohd Tahir, accompanying the injured child said that at about 11 AM, they were going to Tipper Ziarat when a loud sound was heard after which some pellets hit his body.
The Injured minor was identified as Afraz Ahmed, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Dara Sangla in Surankote.
Sources said that he was initially brought to Sub District Hospital Surankote and was later shifted to GMC Rajouri after initial treatment, while Police has brought a person for questioning with whom the injured child was there on the spot.
A Police officer when contacted said that police party had reached on spot after the incident and an enquiry in the matter has been initiated after registering case at Police Station Surankote. It seems to be accidental fire, however, police was investigating on all the angles.
