Minor kidnapped girl rescued from village near Indo-Nepal border

JAMMU, Aug 6: Bahu Fort Police rescued a kidnapped minor girl from village Gidrahi near Indo-Nepal border and arrested the abductor.
As per police sources, on July 20 this year, a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Bahu Fort stating that his 12-year-old daughter has been kidnapped by a man identified as Sunit Kamat, a resident of Bihar.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 262/2021 under Section 363 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and hunt was launched to rescue the kidnapped minor viz arrest the accused.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of crime and age of the minor girl, a special team of Police Station Bahu Fort was constituted by SP City South Deepak Digra.
During the course of investigation, strenuous efforts were made by police team to trace out the minor girl and nab the accused.
After developing concrete information, the special team led by PSI Balbir Singh was deputed to District Madubani, Bihar alongwith lady police.
Bahu Fort police team, with the assistance of Madubani police, raided at village Gidrahi near Indo-Nepal border and rescued the minor girl but accused managed to flee away from the village.
Acting very intelligently, police team again raided at village Gidrahi after couple of hours and apprehended the accused. Later, the accused disclosed his identity as Sunil Kamat, son of Ranjit Kumar of village Gidrahi District Madhubani, Bihar.
The accused and kidnapped minor girl were brought to Jammu and subsequently, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs after completion of legal formalities. Moreover, the accused has been sent to police remand.
The minor girl was rescued and the abductor has been arrested under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania, SDPO City East Bikram Kumar and SP City South Deepak Digra.
