Minor killed by rashly driven vehicle

RAMBAN, July 2: A minor boy was killed after he was being hit by a rashly driven vehicle of Matador make in Ramsu area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
After hit, the boy was being evacuated to a hospital but he died en-route.
Police sources informed that the erring vehicle bearing registration number JK02PB-1692 knocked the minor near SBI, Ramsu leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to PHC Ramsu where after providing him medical aid doctors referred him to SDH Banihal and then to some Srinagar based Hospital but the boy succumbed in the ambulance.
SHO Police Station Ramsu said that the deceased was Sahid Ahmed Sohil, 8, son of Shaheen Ahmed Shoil, resident of Kharwan, Dhanmasta, Ramsu.
Police said the vehicle involved in the accident was impounded and the driver arrested.
A case in this regard has been registered in FIR no. 61 of 2023 under sections 279/337 IPC at Police Station Ramsu.
