Mir appeals NRKs to be ambassadors of J&K in Europe

JAMMU, Nov 9: Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir has appealed the Non Resident Kashmiris to play their role as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir for tourism promotion in European countries.
The appeal was made today by the Tourism Minister during his meeting with NRKs related with different trades in London.
Directors of Tourism Department of Kashmir and Jammu besides Managing Director, JKTDC were also present on the occasion.
The Tourism Minister told them that Kashmir is as safe as London or for that matter any other country in Europe. “We know that tourism is one of the major binding forces for spreading friendship and uniting souls. All of us have to act as tourism ambassadors and try our best to unite those parts of the world which are still less connected”, he appealed. He assured them all possible support from State Government in showcasing rich tourism of the State.
The Tourism Minister appraised the NRKs about the new initiatives taken by the J&K Government for exploring virgin destinations in the State besides upgradation of modern type infrastructure facilities for visiting tourists.
The Tourism Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is known as heaven on earth which provides all facilities to the tourists. He said the State has explored new tourist destinations and J&K is round the year destination with attractive golf courses besides convention centers to hold international conferences.
