Mir asks people to give befitting reply to divisive, communal forces

JAMMU, Oct 6 : PCC president GA Mir has said that Congress is a secular and unifying force to keep the unity and integrity of the state and a befitting reply to the communal and divisive forces in the state.
Addressing a well attended election meeting at Gujjarnagar in Ward No.6 of Jammu East today, Mir said that Congress has secular and progressive agenda for the state, which strengthen the unity and integrity of all three regions and made the state to march on the path of peace, progress and overall development of all three regions. He said that during UPA Government at the Centre, State had received liberal funding for the development of the state, as a result, the three regions of the state had witnessed remarkable development and created infrastructure in different spheres of life. But in the four and half years regime of BJP the development of the state is stand still. It failed in all fronts and to hide its failure, BJP is spreading hate and communal divide in the society.
Mir cautioned the people against the designs of communal and divisive forces, who are posing threat to secular fabric of the state and the nation. He said that Congress has always projected and promoted the interests of all sections of the pluralistic society of India, as this country belong to the people of all religions and faiths, but certain forces are indulging in the politics of hatred and divisiveness which will harm the unity and harmony in the country. He asked the party workers to strengthen the Congress Party at the grass root level.
PCC chief demanded fool proof security to the candidates, as they are facing security threat and Govt should further enhanced security measures before holding elections to the Panchayats in next month. He appealed to the people to cast their valuable vote in favour of Congress party for the overall development of the state.
Vikram Malhotra, DCC Jammu Urban president said that the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ and Jammu being developed as a smart city lies exposed before the people. Highlighting various problems of people of Jammu City, he said that the people are facing great hardships for want of civic facilities.
