ANANTNAG, Feb 21: Accusing previous PDP-BJP Coalition Govt for preparation of wrong data, PCC chief GA Mir has said that the previous ruling dispensation has enrolled their workers and blue eyed persons  by indulging in mass bungling while preparing a data, wherein hundreds of families have been left out on political lines.
Addressing a large public meeting at Dooru  today Mir said that while implementing the Act, Centre should ensure that there must not be any reduction in the existing ration quota of the State and those who are not covered under the Act should get the ration without any difficulty.
PCC president said that wrong preparation of data by previous Govt has made the Food Security Act more controversial, for the fact, both PDP and BJP have indulged in mass favoritism while preparing the data. It is unfortunate that  both the coalition partners wanted to benefit their blue persons and leave the common people at the mercy of God, aiming to keep their vote bank intact, he said.
Urging the Administration to ensure ration to the people on the same analogy they have been getting since decades, PCC chief has called for revisiting the Food Security Act as it has become a contemptuous issue in its present form. Centre should also ensure that there should not be any reduction in the existing quota while implementing the Act. People of the State are   already hit in absence of the elected Govt, the implementation of Act “in present form” would further alienate them, which will be a matter of great concern.
Urging the Central Govt to ensure ration to those also who are not covered under the Act, Mir expressed surprise  over the intentions of the PDP- BJP Coalition while working on the Food Security Bill.
Referring to the massive protests against the Food Security Act in Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kapran, Dooru, Ganderbal,  Budgam, Srinagar and elsewhere in the State, PCC chief said that there is a need to revisit the Act and urged upon the Governor to respond to people’s issues by revisiting  the Food Security  Act.
Congress leader said that J&K especially Kashmir valley, being the  highly rice consuming place in the Country need to be provided ration as per the food habit and Central Govt should also ensure ration to those who are not covered under the Act. PCC chief said that Governor’s Administration should find out a solution to this burning problem in order to end the chaos.
