Mir cautions people against double standards of PDP, BJP

ANANTNAG, Mar 26: PCC president and former Minister G A Mir today cautioned the people against the double standards of PDP and BJP parties.
Addressing a day long convention of Congress Party workers of Dooru constituency today, PCC chief expressed serious concern over the problems confronting people.  He said the developmental works have come to stand still, roads are in dilapidated conditions and the people are  suffering   in the absence of ration, non availability electricity and rising unemployment.
The PCC chief further said that Congress Party has always been committed for equitable development of the regions  and never indulged in any kind of discrimination. “We want every region and   section of the State to develop equally,  Mir said adding that  Congress Party’s resolve is to serve and strengthen the people.
Reiterating Congress Party’s resolve to fight against discrimination against any region, Mir  appealed the Party cadres to  remain steadfast in service of the people, for the fact, Congress Party is an instrument of service and it (Congress) would continue to serve them  to the best of  its ability.
Referring to the local issues of Dooru,  Mir expressed anguish over the worst condition of Anantnag-Dooru-Verinag road which is being considered a lifeline, connecting Dooru with the district Anantnag and urged upon the Governor to take immediate measure for construction of this road, on priority basis, as the construction of this road will prove to be a milestone in the development of the Dooru constituency.
Urging the Governor’s Administration to resolve the issues confronting people of Dooru and elsewhere, Mir said that people of Dooru have been neglected by previous PDP -BJP Coalition, merely on political lines, but Congress Party would continue to fight for resolution of the problems people are facing, across the State.
