Mir reviews progress on membership drive

JAMMU, July 12:  Pradesh Congress Committee president GA Mir held interaction with senior party functionaries and prominent leaders of the party at PCC headquarters here today and reviewed the progress of the ongoing membership drive of the party in different districts and constituencies of Jammu province.
Prominent leaders present in the meeting included Sham Lal Sharma,  Ravinder Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma, Rajnish Sharma,  Pawan Raina, Neeraj Gupta, Vijay Kumar Manhas,  Sukhdev Singh,  Sanjeev Sharma and Rajiv Sharma.
PCC chief also had interaction with the party leaders of  district Udhampur and reviewed the working of the party and the progress of the party membership. He asked the party leaders to encourage the grass- root workers who have served the party with loyalty and dedication.
The leaders of  district Udhampur,  who met the PCC chief include  Ashok Gupta-president DCC, Vijay Manhas, Ashok Bakshi, Sanjeev Dubey, Ashwani Khajuria, Manav Upadhaya and Surinder Khajuria. They apprised the president about the organizational activities  of the party and the current issues of the people of different areas of the district.
A number of deputations of different areas of Jammu province also met the PCC chief and apprised him of the problems of the people of different sections of the society and feedback of the people about the party. They highlighted the failures of the Government to meet the genuine aspirations of the general public.
President PCC also discussed the arrangements for the 100th birth anniversary of veteran Congress leader  G L Dogra on  July 17 being held at PCC headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu.
