Some of the people who survived reached Jammu. The then State Govt of J&K allowed some of those families to settle in J&K and others (about 5300 families) were sent to other places of the country outside J&K. Presently these families are settled in Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, UP, Uttaranchal, West Bengal, Goa etc.
