Mirpur Balidan Bhawan Samiti, JKPF observe ‘Sankalp Divas’

JAMMU, Feb 22: Mirpur Balidan Bhawan Samiti & Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ Forum, New Delhi observed “Sankalp Divas” and welcomed the decision of High Court, Jammu delivered in favour of 5,300 families displaced from PoJK in 1947 presently settled outside Jammu Kashmir to include them in the Rehabilitation Package under the Prime Minister’s Development Package, 2015.
During the programme at Delhi the speakers said that Indian Parliament on February 22, 1994 unanimously passed a Resolution that— “ On behalf of the People of India, Firmly declares that –(a) The State of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall be integrated part of India and any attempts to separate it from the rest of the country will be resisted by all means (b) India has the will and capacity to firmly counter all designs against its sovereignty and territorial integrity; and demands that (c) Pakistan must vacate the areas of Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir, which they have occupied through aggression and resolves that –(d) all attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of India will be met resolutely.” Today, we have collected to remind Pakistan about the firm decision of the Government of India, they stated.
The Samiti and JKPF welcomed the J&K High Court extending benefit of Rs 5.5 lakh under PM’s Relief Package to 5300 families displaced from Pak Occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) in 1947 presently settled outside of Jammu & Kashmir.
A press conference was held in the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi under the patronage of Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Registrar General (Retd), Delhi High Court and Justice Vidhya Bhushan Gupta, Judge (Retd.), Delhi High Court. Mahinder Mehta, Convenor, Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ Forum, Delhi, Dr Sudesh Ratan president, Madan Mohan Gupta, general secretary and Shyam Sunder Gupta, treasurer of the Committee were also present.
They expressed gratitude towards the J&K Court on behalf of the Mirpur Balidan Bhawan Samiti, JKPF and displaced families from PoJK of 1947 settled in different parts of the country. They also urged the Union of India and the UT Government of Jammu & Kashmir to issue the requisite Notification in this regard at the earliest.
