This is in reference to the heart touching article ‘Homage to Mirpur martyrs’ by Romesh Kharyal of Mirpur. What a beautiful and peaceful place was devastated and innocent armless people were butchered. Why, what was their fault? Only that they were not of the religion for which Pakistan was created. By killing so many Hindus in Pakistan what they got then? Is there any now? peace no! It is hell. The spirits of innocent people killed will keep on haunting them. We get heart attacks when we hear of such brutal killings and displacement. What would be passings in the minds of those who have escaped that holocaust and are now living with the psychological horror. These are not the stories of Mirpuris only but of the thousands of Hindus and Muslims of partition time. These are the stories of six Lakh Kashmiri Pandits whose soul is in Kashmir but body in rest of the nation. Every time the memory of their birthplace takes them there. They can’t concentrate on their present because of a haunted past. May God console them all,may this inhuman act does not occur again.
