Mirwaiz, Malik refuses to talk to APD members in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Chairman of the moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yaseen Malik today refused to meet a group of members of All-Party Delegation (APD).

Sources in the sub jail Cheshmashahi said that All India Muslim Itehad Muslimeen (AIMIM) Assaduddin Owaisi and some other members had gone to sub jail to meet the Mirwaiz, where he is lodged since August 27.

However, the Mirwaiz refused to discuss anything with Owaisi, who had reportedly said he will not make any similar try to meet chairman of hardline HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani under house arrest since May after his return from New Delhi.

However, Mr Geelani was arrested several times for defying restrictions but released in the evening. Another group of APD members, including Sitaram Yechuri also tried to meet JKLF chairman Malik at Humhama in the central Kashmir district of Badgam. However, Malik also refused to meet them.
