Srinagar, Apr 1: Moderate Hurriyat chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today said if Prime Minister Narendra Modi desires to resolve all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan through dialogue then there is a need to have walk the talk approach and take concrete and practical measures to address and resolve the issues.
He was reacting to the statement made by the Prime Minister in Brussels wherein he talked of resolving all outstanding issues through dialogue. Addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid here, the Mirwaiz said the Hurriyat always stood for resolving issues through parleys and that there cannot be permanent peace in the sub-continent unless the Kashmir Issue was resolved.
He termed the resolution of the long-pending Kashmir issue as a prerequisite for peace in Indo-Pak subcontinent. He however said the statements of Indian leadership at the International forums about tackling the issues through dialogue were always “negated by their actions” on the ground.
“The leadership of India and Pakistan need to devise a mechanism to initiate a dialogue process with the inclusion of true leadership of Kashmir to find a just and lasting solution to the vexed Issue of Kashmir,” said the Mirwaiz.
The Hurriyat, he said, would extend its cooperation in all such endevours that would be aimed at the resolution of Kashmir Issue.
