Mirwaiz urges India, Pak to end hostilities

SRINAGAR, Jan 19: Chair-man moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today asked India and Pakistan to end hostilities on borders and start meaningful dialogue for solving the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
Chairing the executive council meeting of conglomerate here today, Mirwaiz said that ending of hostilities is in better interests of both India and Pakistan. He asked the leaders on both the sides to stop the diatribe against each other so that there is no animosity on either side of Line of Control.
Expressing concern over the recent statements of the leaders on both sides of the border, Mirwaiz said that need of the hour is that matured statements should come out from leaders of both India and Pakistan.
Mirwaiz said Kashmir issue is the root cause of skirmishes between India and Pakistan, adding that once this issue is solved then both the neighbouring countries can come close.
The executive committee meeting was attended by Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, Aga Syed Hassan, Masroor Abbas Ansari, Mohammad Musadiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Khalil Mohammad Khalil.
