REASI, Oct 12: Acting swiftly, Police today arrested the miscreant responsible for defacing of Hanumanji idol, here yesterday.
The accused, who confessed to the crime, was identified as Deepak Kumar son of Mohan Lal of village Nayagaon Tehsil Jawad Distt Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. The said accused was living at Pouni from last few days.
Police Station Pouni yesterday morning received an information that some unknown person defaced the HanumanJi idol at Shiv Shakti Ashram, Kothian Block, Reasi. On this Police swung into action and immediately a special team was constituted by SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir, which consisted of Waseem Mehmood, DySP Hqrs Reasi, Insp Sumeet Sharma, SHO P/S Pouni and SI Tribhawan Khajuria, I/C PP Bhambla. An instant case FIR No 58/2019 u/s 295 RPC was registered at P/S Pouni against the accused.
The team developed some leads and technical inputs and started working on them and thereafter rounded up few suspects. In this process the police team got a major breakthrough in the evening when it zeroed on and ultimately caught the prime accused responsible for the crime.
