SRINAGAR, July 15: Blaming both Central and State Governments for loss of precious lives in Valley, JKPCC chief G A Mir today termed the current unrest as an outcome of mishandling of situation.
Expressing agony and distress over the current turmoil, PCC chief lamented that had the Government ensured maximum restraint by the forces dealing with law and order, the civilian casualties would have been prevented. Besides, the mishandling of situation at various levels led to the current unrest, he said.
Lashing out at Coalition Government for failing to protect peaceful atmosphere in the Valley, PCC chief stated that both State and Central Governments have miserably failed to take measures that were urgently required to be taken in order to prevent the civilian casualties and damages caused to property.
Terming the loss of lives as highly condemnable and unfortunate, PCC chief sought clarity from the State and Central Governments over the use of force and brutality on protesters by the security forces, as a result dozens lives lost. Besides leaving thousands injured, the people here feel that forces are out to kill innocents which remained the cause of growing anger among them (people) across the Valley, both State and Central Govts will have to address the concerns of the people, G A. Mir added.
Pointing towards the strict restrictions imposed today, PCC chief asked the Government to ensure availability of essentials, so that people don’t suffer on account of medicines, baby food and essential commodities. He also asked the authorities dealing with Law and Order to ensure hassle -free movement of people visiting hospitals or private clinics for their treatment.
Urging the authorities “dealing with Law and Order” to exercise restraint, PCC chief urged them to ensure that no innocent person is harmed while dealing with the situation.
Calling for peace, PCC chief reiterated his appeal to people to avoid confrontation and do not provide chance to forces to use force.
