JAMMU, Jan 1: Jammu Kashmir People’s Forum (JKPF) today said that a misinformation campaign regarding Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 is being run by anti-national forces and some political parties to fulfill their evil designs.
“Even the students are being misled and exploited to spread violence in some places by creating a misinformation campaign that Act aims to snatch/withdraw citizenship of some select citizens whereas in reality this Act has nothing to do with citizens of India,” Forum members said in a press conference addressed today.
They said that keeping in view the motivated protests and sponsored violence which the nation saw in some regions over the CAA, and realizing its duty to create awareness among common masses of J&K about the provisions of this Act so that they do not fall prey to false propaganda of nefarious designers who want to disturb peace in the country, JKPF is going to organizing a public meeting on January 12 at Brahman Sabha Chowk, Parade at 11 am.
The Forum members appealed the citizens from all walks of life to attend the meeting to support the CAA and the Government’s endeavor to improve the condition of those who have taken shelter in our country facing persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
