UDHAMPUR, Aug 7: A missing shopkeeper was found dead in a nallah near Dudhadhaari Temple road in Udhampur while in another incident, a youth was found dead on roadside at Chenani.
According to the police report, Rakesh Khajuria, son of Kunj Behari, resident of ward number 15, Udhampur, was found dead this evening. He was missing for the last seven days and today his decomposed body was found lying in a nallah near Dudhadhaari temple road, backside of Vridha Ashram Udhampur.
The body was spotted by some locals who informed the Police. SHO Udhampur Chaman Gorkha along with a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary of Udhampur District Hospital.
According to the Police, the deceased was a tailor master and had been missing since August 1.
Family members of the deceased alleged that he was murdered and Police should properly investigate the case. In this regard, Udhampur police have initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
Meanwhile, a youth was found dead on roadside at Champari in Chenani. The deceased has been identified as Vipan Kumar Sharma (22), son of Dwarkanath Sharma, resident of Gharrian, Tehsil Chenani.
Police have registered the case under 174 CrPC and further investigation is going on.
