Missing man’s body recovered, people protest

RAJOURI, May 25: The people held strong protest demonstration and blocked Jammu-Rajouri highway at Garan village in Nowshera, area after a missing man was found dead near the village today.
Official sources said that 35-year -old Mohd Aslam, son of Mohd Akbar, resident of Garan went missing on May 20, 2017. His family members were searching for him. Today, his dead body was found lying near a water tank in Nowshera area.
The people of the village and his relatives took out the body after postmortem and sat on dharna along with dead body on the highway at 1 pm and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against police and demanding action in this regard. They alleged that Aslam was murdered. At around 2 pm, SDM Nowshera Harbans Lal and SDPO Nawaz Choudhary went to the spot and pacified the agitating people. He assured to hold probe into the case. Then they lifted dharna and allowed movement of the vehicles.
