JAMMU, Sept 17: A 30-year-old youth, who was missing for last 3 days, was found dead today in a field in Ranjan area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gharota.
“The dead body of Khem Raj son of Rattan Lal and a resident of Ranjan (Gharota) was found this evening from a field at Ranjan,” Police sources said. They said the deceased was a habitual drunkard. He used to do work in a saw mill from where he was missing for last 3 days after borrowing Rs 1000.
Sources said a quarter of country made liquor was found lying near the body of the deceased and prima facie, it appears that he died due to over drinking. They further disclosed that the deceased had earlier made two attempts on his life in the past.
“The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem while Gharota Police had taken cognizance of the matter,” police sources added.
