JAMMU, Aug 23: A month-long pre-vocational training program for female inmates of Muskaan Home for mentally challenged, concluded today in the presence of ADC Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal. The training was organized by Mission Shakti Sankalp Hub for empowerment of women, a dedicated initiative for women’s empowerment, in collaboration with Muskaan Foundation.
The program, aimed at enhancing the skills and self-reliance of the inmates, equipped them with practical skills in craft work. The training was conducted by skilled instructors and aimed at fostering a sense of independence and confidence among the participants.
Shagun Manchanda, District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, Social Welfare Department; Parveen Sangral, Founder , Muskaan Foundation, Rajesh Bharwaj VP Muskaan Foundation, Bansi Lal Bhagat , Administrator Muskaan Home and officials from Mission Shakti were present.
Speaking at the event, ADC Jammu lauded the initiative taken by Mission Shakti and Muskaan Foundation. She highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for empowerment and skill development, particularly for vulnerable groups like the women at Muskaan Home. She expressed her hope that the training will be instrumental in improving the lives of the participants.
Shagun Manchanda, in her address, emphasized Mission Shakti’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment initiatives across Jammu and thanked Muskaan Foundation for their support in organizing this valuable program.
Parveen Sangral, Chairperson, Muskaan Foundation, stated that the skills acquired by the inmates will not only make them feel empowered but also instil confidence.
