JAMMU, Oct 6: MJR-47 (Movement for Justice for 1947 PoJK Refugees) convened a special meeting today at Miran Sahib where apart from its Executive Committee members heads from all areas participated. The issues which came under discussion included review of progress action taken by Government.
After making presentation for rehabilitation of PoJK 1947 refugees before All Party Parliamentary Delegation in Jammu on September 5, observing martyrs day to pay respectful homage to those who made supreme sacrifice in tribal raid of 1947 in the State and  also the future course of action for getting justice to DPs of 1947.
All members were highly critical that despite clear advisory by Home Minister during his meeting on September 5 in All Party Parliamentary Delegation, the MoS in PMO has not convened the meeting of  all DPs and instead  West Pakistan refugees met both the MoS &  Home Minister at Delhi. The meeting said pursuant to advisory of HM, we contacted MoS Office at Delhi both on telephone as well as through proper request in this regard but with no success till date and  will peruse it further but it is most unfortunate that Parliamentary Delegations  visit State whenever, the situation like the present unrest arises, hear people, but action is not taken at all or if so late that all such exercise become meaningless and general public start loosing faith in ruling dispensation of the time, it added.
The meeting said even the amount of Rs. 2000 crore package already announced by  PM for PoK 1947 & Chhamb refugees in November, 2015 has not been released so far, despite lapse of more than 10 months. This lack luster attitude of the Government has made people to realize that present dispensation is not serious about refugees problem. “We reiterate that both State Government as well as Centre should take immediate steps & release funds for disbursement as have been recommended by Joint Parliament Committee on Home Affairs along with other part of package regarding reservation for wards of DP families”.
It was also decided that Martyrs Day in memory of those who gave supreme sacrifice, lost their lives in tribal raid of 1947 on State be observed not only in Jammu rather in all district, of Jammu province as well in other States of Indian Union to pay our respectful homage. This is part of State history and should be made known to all those who even were not born in 1947.
Members also were of the opinion that State Government should also be approached to get the package of DPs released & frame procedure which facilitate the affected families to take benefit of the same in hassle free transparent manner.
Prominent people who participated in the meeting included, Dr- Padam Dev Ramin, Comrade Om Parkash, Bodh Raj Sharma, Krishan Lal Sudan, Harjit Singh, Raj Kumar, Suchwant Singh.
