JAMMU, Dec 30: Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West along with Dr Parneesh Mahajan, senior BJP leader conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing and completed projects at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, here today.
During the visit, MLA emphasized the importance of efficient utilization of resources to enhance healthcare services and asked the hospital administration and medical staff to prioritize patient care by improving infrastructure, streamlining services and ensuring a compassionate approach toward those seeking treatment.
The MLA examined the teaching sections of the GMC including newly built Lecture Halls and Teaching classrooms.
He visited the different sections of the hospital including Patient’s Wards, Emergency Section, ICU and other areas.
Gupta also taken round of the ongoing projects like Prof RN Chopra Nursing Home, construction of new shed in the Emergency Premises, blacktopping of the Govt Medical College Complex and other important projects.
He appreciated the work being done by the GMC’s Administration and the Principal, GMC for their efforts in direction of better patient care.
Gupta also visited the surrounding including premises of GMC and directed the concerned Departments to start work of the footpath on the road adjoining GMC improvement of exit gate of the GMC.
Principal, GMC, Jammu acknowledged the visiting MLA regarding the working of the hospital staff various newly installed machinery and equipment and extensions of GMC Hospital including Bone and Joint Hospital, Cancer Hospital, MCH Gandhi Nagar, Neonatology Department at SMGS Hospital, Jammu, Services of the PET Scan in Jammu region, Bio Safety Level-III Lab, Another installation of 3 Tesla MRI Machine, new initiatives being taken for the up-gradation and enhancement of equipment’s in the Emergency Wing of the GMC Hospital, Jammu.
Later, the MLA also interacted with the patients, staff as well as doctors on duty.
Arvind Gupta also asked the Principal GMC to minimize the presence of attendants within the hospital premises, ensuring that doctors can focus more effectively on their duties and provide uninterrupted medical attention.
