KATHUA, Feb 26: MLA Bani, Jeewan Lal Lalhal today said that providing of basic facilities and essential commodities to common masses is the foremost priority of the Government.
Addressing a public grievances redressal camp-cum public darbar at Bani today he stressed the people of the areas to come forward and take benefits of various State and Centrally sponsored flagship programmes which have been implemented in the District for development and upliftment of the poor people.
He asked officials and employees to put in their best efforts in the development of each and every sector in their area. He said that in next 2-3 years considerable development and change will be seen in Bani constituency with the expansion of new road network the Bani is witnessing a notable growth in tourism sector and development in different spheres, he added.
Lal said that equitable development of all the regions is the priority of the Coalition Government. The various demands were projected by the people on the occasion.
The people highlighted their issues and demanded up gradation of Schools, Health, PHE and road infrastructure and better staff position in the schools, Clearance of MGNREGA Payments. People of Bani constituency were very annoyed with the working style of RDD.
He directed BDO Bani and BDO Duggan to conduct regular monitoring of Department in order to keep a check on working style of Gram Seviks, junior engineers and computer operators so that people of Bani constituency are not affected.
He said MGNREGA is a backbone of rural people and if this scheme is not functioning properly constituency like Bani is not fully developed. He said that any laxity on part of the Department will be viewed seriously. He appealed to the people not to accept sub-standard work and approach the concerned authorities to register their complaints.
MLA Bani gave instructions to the concerned officials to address the problems of the people in a time bound manner. He asked the concerned officers of PHE and PDD to prepare water and power supply schedule to ensure uninterrupted supply of these vital services.
