BISHNAH, Apr 21: In a display of immediate concern and solidarity, Dr. Rajiv Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, undertook an urgent visit to village Deoli today. The visit was prompted by a devastating fire incident that had ravaged approximately 35 to 40 acres of standing crops, inflicting substantial losses upon the local farming community.
The fire, which broke out under circumstances yet to be fully determined, swept through the fields, consuming the hard-earned produce of numerous farmers. The affected individuals included Arjun Singh, Prem Singh, Ram Pal, Yash Pal, Dr JP Sharma, Sewa Ram, Subash Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Sat Pal, Sambhu Parshad, Sushma Devi, Chuni Lal, Pritam Lal, Charan Dass, Bishan Dass, and many others.
Upon reaching the village, Dr Bhagat was met with scenes of desolation. The farmers, visibly distressed, recounted the harrowing experience of witnessing their livelihoods go up in flames.
Dr Bhagat, demonstrating empathy and a keen understanding of the farmers’ plight, patiently listened to their grievances and concerns. He acknowledged the immense hardship they were facing and offered words of solace, assuring them that they were not alone in their time of need.
“The loss suffered by our farmers is deeply distressing,” Dr. Bhagat stated during his interaction with the affected individuals. “Their hard work and dedication, which sustain our community, have been dealt a severe blow. It is our duty to stand by them and provide all possible assistance to help them recover from this calamity,” he added.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Dr Bhagat immediately issued instructions to the revenue authorities to conduct a thorough assessment of the damage. He emphasized the need for a swift and accurate appraisal of the losses incurred by each farmer, ensuring that they receive appropriate compensation.
He further assured the farmers that he would personally follow up on their cases and ensure that they receive all the support they are entitled to. He also promised to take up the matter with higher authorities to seek additional relief measures, if required.
The farmers expressed their gratitude to Dr Bhagat for his prompt response and his empathetic approach. They appreciated his willingness to listen to their concerns and his commitment to providing them with assistance.
