JAMMU, May 25: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) president and MLA Bishnah Ashwani Sharma today declared that all pending issues of the border villagers would be solved and the Government forced to accept their demands.
Addressing a massive `Sangarsh Rally’ at border town of Arnia today, Mr Sharma came down heavily on the State Government for not solving the issue of farmers, whose land had been acquired for the purpose of fencing several years back, by paying them compensation.
“We will put pressure on the Government for resolving the issue of compensation for border fencing, which has been hanging for past 18 years,’’ Mr Sharma said, adding that he has repeatedly raised the issue in the Assembly as well as meetings of the District Development Boards (DDBs).
He called upon the Government to immediately hold special recruitment driver for the youths of border areas and sanction degree college for Arnia. He said that upgradation of Primary Health Centre of Arnia to Sub District Hospital was under consideration and he would get it sanction at the earliest.
Mr Sharma declared that efforts were on to develop Arnia town and under Integrated Housing Slum Development Programme Scheme, the Municipal Committee Arnia has extended help to 124 families, who fall under BPL category. He assured that drainage system would also be improved in Arnia. He assured construction of a Mini Sports Stadium in Arnia.
Pointing out that he got one tehsil and one CD block for Arnia, the MLA Bishnah said efforts would be made to make these two administrative units functional shortly.
Mr Sharma said incentives for farmers would also be taken up with the Government.
He said the JSM was committed to get justice for Jammu and remove discrimination with it by getting Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, abrogated and setting up of Delimitation Commission and political justice with the State.
He announced the demands and problems of West Pakistan, PoK, 1965 and 1971 refugees would be taken up with the new Government at the Centre and get addressed.
