POONCH, Aug 1: In an effort to reach out to the people of Panj Saraan area of Surankote Sub-Division and to understand their issues, Member Legislative Assembly, Surankote, Ch. Mohammad Akram and Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani today held a grievance redressal camp at Chandimarh.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Basharat Hussain, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Surankote, Mohd Afzal Mirza, SE Hydraulics, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, PMGSY besides Sarpanhs, Panchs, district and sub-divisional officers and locals in large numbers attended the camp.
Residents were encouraged to ventilate their grievances along with their suggestions on public issues. Problems pertaining to water and power supply, availability of ration and cooking gas besides functioning of schools, anganwari centres and other developmental issues were vociferously raised and discussed.
While speaking on the occasion, Ch. Akram assured them that their complaints would be heeded and grievances redressed. He urged the officers to empathize with the people in remote areas of the district and solve their problems on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner responded to all the concerns raised by the locals and assured their timely redressal. He passed on necessary instructions to the concerned officers for redressal of issues raised by the locals.
The locals especially the Sarpanchs and Panchs hailed this initiative of the MLA and DDC.
