MLA, DDC discuss Samba Fort restoration plan

Samba, Aug 17: MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and DDC Samba Sheetal Nanda along with a team of INTACH officials today visited the fort premises and deliberated upon its proposed restoration plan. The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage is the nodal agency for developing the conservation renovation plan for the fort.
The plan proposes establishment of Skill Development/ Vocational Training Center, community facility center and amphitheater catering to every section of the society. The plan also includes proposal for War Heroes Gallery,up-gradation of pathways, landscaping and separate entry for each block.
The MLA called for preparation of comprehensive project with a future usage plan and directed for giving beautiful outer look to the fort so that it attracts tourists. He also stressed upon for preserving the socio-cultural aspect of the heritage structure and maintain the fort identity.The DDC informed that the district administration is actively working towards protection of the heritage site.
