MLA East visits flood affected areas

JAMMU, July 18: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) East Rajesh Gupta undertook a tour of the flood affected areas of the Jammu East constituency today along with the officials of the JMC and other concerned departments.
Many low lying areas facing regular inundation during the monsoons were visited to take stock of the problems faced by the residents of these areas. There are many areas that face problems due to the blocking of the drains and as result the water starts to flow all over the surface creating difficulties for the residents.
Rajesh Gupta during visit to these areas met the local residents and issued on the spot instructions to the officials accompanying him to attend to the problems of the people on a war footing.
The officials of the JMC were instructed to maintain absolute cleanliness so that the garbage and polythene waste does not clog the drains. In the days to come a foolproof system needs to be put in place and the plans for the same are already underway, he said.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that it is his mission to develop Jammu east as a model constituency.
Gupta said that in the days to come plans are already underway for the construction of modern parking systems to ease traffic congestion in the city. Raghunath Bazar is being developed as a heritage bazaar reflecting the rich culture of Jammu, he added.
The officials who accompanied Rajesh Gupta included Sher Singh ADC, Zafar Iqbal Health officer JMC, Ashok Kumar Gupta X-En, Vivek AEE, Kamal Preet Singh Naib Tehsildar and JE SK Pandita.
Among others present were Girdhari Lal, Surinder Anand, Gulshan Mahajan, Charanjeet, Jagjivan, Ashwani, Manav, Kuldeep, Ramesh, Chaman Lal, Raj Kumar, PC Gupta, Rudra Gupta, Gopal, Amit and Hari Om.
