JAMMU, Jan 6: In an endeavour to infuse added zeal and passion among the strong contingent of workforce available with Jammu Municipal Corporation(JMC), which is responsible for making Jammu clean and livable, senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East Constituency, Rajesh Gupta provided uniforms to Safaikaramcharis of JMC here at Town Hall today. This was the maiden effort of any Member of State Legislature in Jammu and Kashmir to boost the morale of JMC staff and recognize their contribution towards society.
Health Officer JMC, X-En JMC, Arvind Gupta, Paramjeet Singh besides all the staff members of Municipal Office at Town Hall were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering after distributing the uniforms, Rajesh Gupta lauded the contribution made by this section of employees in keeping the city of temples neat and clean. He said that he will try his best to help people in living a comfortable and contented life. Others who accompanied the MLA included Surinder Anand, Ramesh Sharma, Govind, Girdhari Lal, Arun Sethi, Manav, Karan Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Rajesh and others.
Later in the day, MLA Rajesh Gupta visited Borian Mohalla near Mohalla Paharrian in Ward No. 10 of Jammu East Constituency in connection with a felicitation function. During the function, MLA interacted with the locals and asked about the difficulties being faced by them. Highlighting the problems and issues, President Ward No. 10 Om Prakash said that main problems which have been affecting the life of people here include scarcity of potable water, dilapidated lanes and drains, etc. Responding to issues highlighted by Ward President, Rajesh Gupta immediately issued directions on mobile for ensuring regular water supply. He also assured that he will address the issues at the earliest. On the occasion, people also highlighted the problem of Kuchha Houses in the vicinity of this ward, to which he responded positively and assured that whatever is possible from his side will be delivered soon. Locals appreciated the promptness shown by the newly elected MLA and thanked him for his gesture and assurances.
