RAJOURI, Nov 15: Javed Iqbal Choudhary, Member Legislative Assembly from Budhal Constituency, today inaugurated transit accommodation for the tribals at the picturesque Kesri Hill in upper reaches of Kandi-Koteranka in Rajouri district.
A major relief for the migrating nomadic population, the project includes accommodation for 1200-1500 people, a dispensary, a doctor’s hut and a tourist hut.
Following massive demand of people and reports of loss to human and animal lives during nomadic migration, Javed Choudhary had got this project sanctioned two years ago as Chairman of the Block Development Council Koteranka. The project supported by Tribal Affairs Department has been constructed by the Public Works Department in a record time of two years. MLA commended the engineers of the executing agency for their efficient and time bound work.
Being equipped with supervisory and maintenance support, the Transit accommodation is not only a place of comfort and safety but also life saving abode for the migrating population, particularly in harsh weather conditions.
Since Kesri Hill is a picturesque valley, the Tourist hut, as part of the Transit accommodation, shall be of great use to the adventure tourists.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Budhal said that as already promised, he is making efforts for bringing Kesri Hill on the tourist map to boost the economy of adjoining areas.
