JAMMU, Apr 2: MLA R S Pura-Jammu South, Dr Narender Singh and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav visited Sainik Colony to discuss key civic issues with the Sainik Colony Management Committee. The meeting focused on addressing concerns related to drinking water supply, street lighting, drainage systems and park development.
Local residents submitted a memorandum highlighting these pressing concerns. The JMC Commissioner assured the community that necessary measures would be taken at the earliest to resolve the issues. He reaffirmed the JMC’s commitment to enhancing civic infrastructure in the region.
Dr Narender Singh emphasized the importance of public participation in the successful implementation of civic projects. He urged residents to collaborate with the authorities to facilitate smooth development initiatives. Stressing the role of elected representatives, Dr Singh called for close coordination between Government departments to ensure the timely execution of developmental projects. He reiterated his dedication to providing quality infrastructure and essential services for the welfare of the citizens.
As a significant step towards improving civic amenities, the JMC Commissioner handed over 50 street lights to the Sainik Colony Management Committee (SCMC) in the presence of the MLA. The initiative aims to enhance street lighting, improving visibility and security in the area.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Singh reaffirmed his commitment to further infrastructural development in Sainik Colony while Dr Yadav highlighted the importance of well-lit streets in fostering a safer environment and improving the overall quality of life. He stated that the initiative was part of broader efforts to enhance civic amenities across Jammu.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner (South) Lal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W) Firdous Ahmad Qazi, Executive Engineers, senior JMC officials, former corporators, and local residents.
