KATHUA, Nov 30: Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan along with District Development Commissioner, Dr. Rakesh Minhas today started an ambitious drinking water project for Nagri Parole town having an allocation of 12.5 crore.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, while speaking on the occasion told the gathering that this project having an allocation of 12 crore and 50 lakhs will prove as a game changer for Nagri Parole town which is the second largest town after Kathua in Kathua Assembly constituency.
Two tube wells and three Over Head Tanks (OHTs) will be constructed in this ambitious project initiated under “Amrut Component of Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme”. Besides, the scheme has provision for laying fresh pipes and 1995 fresh water connections will be provided to the inhabitants of the town. He further said that the scheme will be completed in nine months and the executing agency will be responsible for operation and maintenance of the scheme for next five years. When completed, this scheme will cater to the safe drinking water requirement of Nagri Parole town up to the year, 2040.
The District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas in his address stressed on quality execution of the work and directed for completing the mega project in the prescribed time line. He said that this project will not only meet the present safe drinking water requirement of the town but also meet future requirements.
The local DDC Member Sandeep Majotra, Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Division Kathua, Girdhari Lal Gupta, AEE Himanshu Verma, JEs, Mandal Pardhan Arpan Verma, former Councilor of Nagri Rakesh Saini, Youth leader, Sunny Kajotra, Rejay Kumar and a large number of Nagri residents were present on the occasion..
