UDHAMPUR, Jan 6: MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta held an important meeting with the officers of the UEED (Sewerage) Department and the CEO of the Udhampur Municipality.
The discussion focused on improving the sewerage system in the city and resolving existing issues effectively. Key highlights of the meeting were repair and expansion of sewer lines, plans to repair old and damaged sewer lines, discussion over proposals to lay new sewer lines in underdeveloped areas, improvement of drainage systems, etc.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on resolving waterlogging problems, especially during the rainy season. Regular cleaning and maintenance of drainage channels were also discussed.
For the environmental protection, the meet resolved that modern technologies will be adopted to make the sewerage system more eco-friendly besides proposed setting up new treatment plants for efficient waste disposal.
The meet also discussed plans to establish a helpline number and e-governance system to address complaints quickly besides increasing the number of sanitation workers and providing advanced machinery for cleaning operations.
Pawan Kumar Gupta assured that the sewerage system will soon be modernized and made more efficient, ensuring that residents do not face any inconvenience.
