RAMBAN, May 12: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh distributed scooties especially designed for specially abled persons among the six handicapped beneficiaries at Ramlela Ground Maitra Ramban here today.
On this occasion MLA was accompanied by the district Programme Officer ICDS, Ashok Pandita, district Social Welfare Officer, Varunjeet Singh Charak, other officers and general public.
MLA while handing over scooties to the beneficiaries told that people should come forward from all walks of life especially the downtrodden for taking benefits of the social welfare and other schemes run by the Central and State Government for their upliftment.
Meantime people were also made aware by the department about the different welfare schemes launched by the government for women, children, socially backward and weaker section of the society. .
The DSWO, Charak informed that these Scooties were provided by the Department of Rehabilitation Council , Srinagar to the beneficiaries who are handicapped with more than 40 % physical deformity and feel difficulty in moving about.
The beneficiaries thanked MLA for taking into account their genuine requests and for providing the Scooties which would help them in a large scale in future.
