SRINAGAR, June 12: Independent MLA from Langate Constituency, Engineer Rashid today launched his own political party, Awami Ettihaad Jammu and Kashmir in view of forth coming Assembly elections in the State.
Claimed that the party will work for progress, prestige and protection of people of the State, Rashid said that likeminded people are welcome to join his party to defeat those traditional politicians, who have criminal record.
“The party will work for progress, prestige and protection of people in the State and will represent true sentiments and aspirations of the people,” Rashid said adding that his party will not give membership to any person with criminal background.
While blaming the National Conference and PDP for their failure in governance and safe guarding the sentiments of people in all the three regions of State, Rashid said that an honest leadership is missing on the political stage of the State.
The MLA said that he launched his party against the dynasty rule in the State and blamed them for making people of State agents of New Delhi.  “Present mainstream parties should represent Kashmir in New Delhi but unfortunately they are representing New Delhi in Kashmir,” he said.
While justifying the role of his newly party ‘Awami Ettihaad’, as Insaaf Nawaz for people of State, Rashid said that his party will try best to give people of state what PDP, NC, Congress and Hurriyat have failed to give.
He appointed Advocate Nazir Malik of Bandipora as general secretary of the party while Moulvi Showkat Nadvi of Ganderbal spokesperson of the party.
