MLA reviews progress on development projects

MENDHAR, May 6: Member Legislative Assembly,  Mendhar Javed Ahmed Rana, today convened a meeting of district officers to review progress on development projects in Mendhar sub-division.
SDM Mendhar, Tanvir Khan and several district  heads of different departments attended the meeting.
Rana expressed dissatisfaction over the way commitments made by the Chief Minister are ignored at departmental level. He said such outreach programmes are rendered futile when nothing is executed on the ground by concerned agencies.
The MLA said that during the outreach programme of the Chief Minister, it was promised that for the beautification of Mendhar town steps will be taken and the concerned departments were directed to take up the work, but inspite of her direction nothing is being done on the ground.
The MLA also said that for upgradation of some roads which required huge financial resources, funds are being diverted to Kashmir region and district Poonch was completely neglected and ignored by present dispensation.
He said that Rs 7 crore was spent on the Sakhi Maidan Kalai road, but the condition of road has not improved, moreover, some work is still pending.
While reviewing the working of PHE and PDD, MLA stressed for the coverage of all uncovered hamlets in the sub division. He also directed the Executive Engineer to ensure that pilferage is proactively checked and discrepancies in the generation of electricity bills.
He also directed PDD authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply of power during the holy month of Ramadan. The PHE Department was asked to restore all the water supply schemes which are lying defunct.
