JAMMU, Jan 2: Expressing his grave concern over hardship being faced by the residents of Kashmir Valley in general and Shangus Assembly segment in particular due to heavy snowfall, MLA Shangus and senior leader of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Peerzada Mansoor Hussain today lambasted Omar Abdullah led Government for its failure to take preventive measures to face the situation.
In a statement, he said that Meteorological Department had forecast heavy snowfall during this season but the State Government failed to take any preventive steps.
Peerzada Mansoor regretted that most parts of Shangus Assembly segments are still cut off from the rest of the world due to accumulation of heavy snow on the roads. “ As process of clearing road has been going on snail’s pace, miseries of common masses have been compounding with every passing day”, he said while narrating how helpless residents have been confronted with hostile weather on one hand and indifferent Government on other hand.
