JAMMU, Nov 12: MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat today visited various areas of RS Pura constituency and took stock of functioning of PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Departments.
Accompanied by a team of officers of PHE and I&FC, Gagan Bhagat visited Indira Nagar, Brij Nagar, Miran Sahib, Darsopur, Maralia, Nihalpur Simbal, Kullian, Gazia, Rathana, Chak Bala, Kool Kalan, Chak Tair, Chak Jagtu, Chak Aslam, Sunderpur, Chohala, Main Baazar RS Pura, Gazipur Kullian, Baggamarh, and Gagian where there was problem of drinking water.
The Legislator interacted with the people and assured them that soon they will get pure drinking water, as the Government is committed to it. He informed that administration has been put on to work and all measures have been put in place to get the schemes approved; the damaged motors and supply pipes will be replaced very soon, as the department will gets its due share of funds, which will be utilized for important works pending in the Constituency, very soon.
Referring to the availability of potable drinking water, the Legislator said that he has recently visited many water supply schemes in the RS Pura Constituency. He directed the concerned engineers to ensure supply of filtrated water to the people as supply of potable drinking water is the first need of human being.
Earlier, the MLA convened an officers meeting at Maralia guest house and reviewed the situation due to non availability of drinking water and status of the water supply Sschemes in RS Pura constituency. He also took stock of measures put in place by the administration to combat with it.
Dr Bhagat was accompanied by Chief Engineer PHE, SE Irrigation, XEn Ground Water, XEn Tube Well Irrigation, SHO Miran Sahib, RS Pura, Tehsildar RS Pura, BJP Madal Pradhan, RS Pura and Miran Sahib, BDO RS Pura and other officers of the administration.
