MLA takes up local issues with GOC 71 Sub Area

UDHAMPUR, Jan 7: MLA Udhampur from J&K National Panthers Party, Balwant Singh Mankotia met the General Officer Commanding 71 Sub Area, Maj Gen Anil Partap Singh, here today and discussed the issues relating to local public importance.
The MLA mainly discussed the issues related to the repair/ up-gradation or roads being maintained by Army authorities in Udhampur constituency.  The MLA pointed out that several roads under Army were not being maintained properly and the villagers are facing lot of hardships.
The MLA pointed out that road from Jib Morh (Gahri) to Jib was in bad shape and not taken care of since long.  The road from Krishna Palace to MES filter Point Cherry and another one from SBI Ghari to Army Gate  need immediate attention. The MLA also demanded construction of small link roads like Subash Station to VIP Road, from Lower Samble  near Railway  Crossing to Jhakhar village, road from Supply Morh to Pachkaira  and construction of  independent road from Chak Morh to Daggar village.
Mr Mankotia also requested the GOC that local youth from Udhampur area be given preference in MES and FOD etc.  He also stressed for timely compensation to the villagers whose land has been acquired by the Army. The GOC assured the MLA that all the issued discussed would be taken up with the higher Army authorities.
