RAJOURI, Oct 19: Newly elected MLA from Thannamandi, Muzaffar Khan today pledged to ensure better development and public welfare of the people of his constituency.
He was addressing a massive public gathering in Thannamandi today, marking his first public meeting in the constituency after being elected as MLA. The event witnessed a significant turnout, reflecting the overwhelming support from people across all communities.
Khan began his speech by expressing heartfelt gratitude to the people of Thannamandi for electing him without any consideration of caste or creed He emphasized his disdain for caste-based politics and reaffirmed his commitment to serving every individual in the constituency equally.
He assured the public that resolving their long-pending issues would be his top priority. He highlighted several key concerns that he plans to tackle, including the Revenue Complex, the upgradation of the local hospital, and addressing the shortage of staff in the healthcare sector.
Khan emphasized that these infrastructural developments are essential for the welfare and progress of the region and that he would work tirelessly to bring about swift solutions to these matters.
A significant part of his speech was dedicated to his strong stance on restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s Statehood. Muzaffar Khan declared that regaining full Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir is his top priority and he will continue to fight at every level to ensure the State’s rightful status is reinstated.
He confidently assured the people that Jammu and Kashmir will soon be restored to its former Statehood with all rights and privileges intact, as it was before the abrogation of Article 370. Clarifying his political stance, Khan stated that while he has extended support to the current Government led by Omar Abdullah, he has not officially joined any political party.
Khan mentioned that any decision regarding his political alignment will only be made after consulting with the people of Thannamandi. The gathering came out for support when attendees raised slogans urging Khan to join the National Conference, showcasing the strong public backing for his leadership. Khan’s speech resonated with the crowd, as he reiterated his dedication to both the development of Thannamandi and the broader political aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir.
