DODA, May 18: MLA, Shakti Raj Parihar, on the fourth consecutive day of his extensive tour of Doda constituency today visited Thanta and Bhagwa area and listened to the problems and demands of the people.
The MLA was accompanied by the officers of various departments.
MLA took stock of various infrastructural and developmental needs of the area and directed the administration for appropriate action.
Expressing concern over the growing unemployment in the area, the MLA asked the officers of Agriculture and allied departments to provide youths a channel for infusing their energy in the potential sectors of commercial agriculture, Horticulture, Apiculture, fish rearing and floriculture to get economic returns.
En-route Bhagwa, MLA inspected various ongoing works at Chapnari, Shiroth, Bhagwa, Menchar and Thanta besides reviewing stock position of essential commodities in CA&PD stores. He also interacted with the people and took stock of their demands and grievances.
Responding to the demand of the people for construction of Bhagwah-Dal Draman defence road, Parihar assured them that the matter will be taken up with the higher authorities for an early action.
Expressing concern over shortage of staff in schools in the area, MLA assured the people that within shortest possible time sufficient staff will be posted in GHSS Bhagwah. He impressed upon the ZEOs to streamline the staff position in the schools.
The locals demanded early disposal of compensation cases of rain and landslide affected people of Baghwah tehsil.
Taking serious notice of restoration of water canal to the irrigated land of Bhagwa, MLA asked the authorities to fix the timeline for its restoration and personally monitor restoration progress.
Besides, issues like pending MGNREGA payments, construction of Tehsil Office Building at Bhagwah, supply of drinking water, Power supply, stock position of the ration in CA&PD Stores were also deliberated upon.
