MLAs call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Ch. Zulfkar Ali, Member of the State Legislative Assembly from Darhal, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today and presented to him a memorandum on the development needs and demands of his area.
The problems faced by the Darhal area and the demands of the people include, interalia, the need for launching a special drive for recruitment of youth of Rajouri and Poonch districts in Army, Para-Military Forces and Police, speedy completion of all the ongoing road projects under PMGSY in both the districts, provision of industrial package for Rajouri and Poonch districts and allotment of adequate ration to the people of the area as per its present population strength.
Other demands related to augmentation of medicare services by establishing more Primary Health Centres, Sub-Centres and upgradation of the existing health institutions, effective implementation of RAMSA, upgradation of educational institutions and the augmentation of irrigation facilities.
After hearing the Legislator, the Governor observed that the State Government would be addressed in regard to all the concerns raised by him.
MLA Abdul Haq Khan also called on Mr Vohra and presented to him certain problems and development needs of his area.
The issues raised by Mr. Khan included, interalia, construction of Lolab-Bandipore Tunnel, speedy completion of Lolab Bye-Pass Road at Kupwara, expeditious construction of Kanthpora, Shimrayal, Thayan Mohri, Lashtiyal and Batnar bridges and electrifications of all the uncovered villages in Lolab area.
Other demands included launching of a special drive for recruitment of youth of the area in Police and taking all required measures for protection of forests and providing timber and firewood to the people in the required quantities.
The Governor, while interacting with Mr. Khan, observed that the issues raised by him would be taken up with the concerned authorities in the State Government.
