“MLA’s Report Card”- A Novel Column

Sir,
The MLAs report card being carried in this paper is really a bold, informatory educative step. The MLAs are being thoroughly exposed not only before the masses of their respective constituencies but the people of the state, country and parliamentarians sitting in the Parliament House in New Delhi. All would come to know how the innocent and patriotic peope of the militancy infested border state of J&K are being treated and represented by their MLAs at the proper forums. Even the petty amenities of life, which are basically of fundamental nature, are not being provided to the hapless people despite  heavy flow of funds from the Centre. The report card would surely prove an eye opener for the MLAs. It would bring drastic change in the coming Assembly elections in the State.
However, the Excelsior team’s kind attention is solicited particularly towards the MLAs Report Card dated 30-07-2014 captioned “Inffective MLA makes Chenani-Ghordi hopeless”.  Though the Report Card speaks loud of the in-depth penetration and thorough research of the reporter Nishikant  Khajuria into each and every issue of the segment. Yet, it slightly pains to see that the large portion of the far-flung and mountainous block Panchari having several Panchayats in its  bosom, that falls in Chenani-Ghordi Assembly Constituency has not been covered by the reporter in his report card.
The ever ignored wide spread hilly terrain is reeling under hair raising woes in all its facets since time immemorial. It is pertinent to state here that the 21 Panchayat’s vast stretched yet compact block Panchari of district Udhampur unfortunately stands divided into three distinct Assembly segments viz Chenani- ‘Ghordi, Udhampur and Reasi. Every limb of the block blessed with mesmerizing natural beauty, pilgrim tourist potential and poverty stricken people deserves sympathetic, sincere and judicious treatment. The recent tragic bus accident on 30-07-2014 at Dubigali (block Panchari) that consumed 5 precious human lives and left 16 injured is a glaring example of the totally neglectful attitude of all holding responsible chairs in the administration, assembly, parliament or elsewhere.
Yours etc…
