JAMMU, Dec 29: To discuss the burning issues pertaining to the retirees of Municipal & Local Bodies Pensioners, a meeting of the MLBPA was held here today.
The meeting was held under the Presidentship of B S Jamwal, President of the MLBPA.
The members demanded to fully implement the latest recommendation of the Pay Commission at par with the Central Govt employees and also release the DA due in the light of the Central Govt order and also placing sufficient funds to meet the requirement at the disposal of disbursing agencies for that matter J&K Bank and Treasury without any delay.
They also expressed great concern not to redress the demand with regard to the disposal of the pensioners pending cases which are held up in the whirlwind of the red tapeism of the delaying hands.
“The Municipal and Local Bodies employees are the backbone of the State Govt and their sufferings at the fake end of the retirement will be more painful and needs to be redressed on first priority of the Government,” said Jamwal.
“The Association is very much hopeful that under the leadership of both Chief Minister and Dy Chief Minister their issues would be resolved at the earliest,” he said.
Jamwal thanked the participants and expressed hope to resolve the pending issues with the cooperation of the members of the Association and supported to extend their cooperation to resolve the burning issues.
Among others who attended the meeting included Indu Bhushan, Bharat Bhushan, Tarsem Lal, Mela Ram, Attar Singh, J R Sharma, K G Khajuria, Shiv Kumar Singh Jamwal, Surinder Singh Jamwal, Kalidass, Yoginder Singh Jamwal, Ram Rattan Sharma, Shiv Pal Singh, Anil Singh and RC Bhatti.
