JAMMU, Nov 13: BJP MLC, G.L. Raina today met State Governor,. S.P.Malik in Raj Bhawan here and apprised him of emerging situation in the State.
Raina congratulated Malik for taking various bold initiatives including the smooth conduct of ULB elections and Panchayat elections that are under progress. He also brought to the notice of Governor various issues confronting the displaced people fromValley.
He demanded instituting a Commission of Inquiry into the targeted killings of community in 1989-90 and subsequent mass exodus from Kashmir; speedy implementation of PMs Employment Package, transit accommodation for employees in Kashmir; removal of encroachments of immovable property left behind, extension of welfare scheme benefits to the displaced community; issuance of Temples and Shrines Ordinance, issue of Backward Area Certificate to the affected people and deletion of M-Form requirement for future elections.
The other issues that were discussed included repair and rebuilding of temples and shrines damaged in 2014 devastating floods; hand holding of unemployed youth to promote self-employment opportunities; need for a fresh survey to identify places historic importance to get them included into Archaeological Survey of India protected monuments.
The Governor assured appropriate action in all these issues raised by Raina.
Regarding employment package Governor informed Raina that based on inputs provided by officer’s in charge including the Advocate General that solution will be found very soon and those already selected by SSB will be issued orders to join their jobs.
Raina also raised the issues related to specially abled people of J&K and on their behalf invited the Governor as chief guest on World Disability Day that falls on December 3,2018.
