MLC raises Sunderbani trauma centre issue

SRINAGAR, Oct 8: Congress legislator Ravinder Sharma has projected the issue of Sunderbani trauma centre in the Upper House of the Legislature.
Minister Incharge Health Shabir Khan while replying to the issue pertaining to the present status of the proposed project on Monday said that a proposal for establishment of 17 Trauma Centres at National Highway in the State under Centrally sponsored scheme, including Trauma Centre at Sunderbani at the cost of Rs 98.15 lakh was taken up with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for accord of sanction and funding.
Replying to another question regarding up-gradation of Sub District Hospital Nowshera, Mr Khan said a project report for construction of the additional block at Nowshera to increase the bed capacity from 40 to 100 is being prepared by the R&B department. An amount of Rs 80 lakhs has been proposed under NRHM during the current year, he added.
